Look out for our recreation of an early 19th-Century historial photograph (above), taken in the early 1900's at one of our estates. These are actually patients of the King Edward VII sanatorium near Midhurst, whose health recovery plans included the wonderful treatment of gardening and walking 'measured walks' created by the hospital's lead surgeon through the woodlands and grounds.
AWARD WINNERS!!! Totally delighted to have received a high commendation from the Sussex Heritage Trust Awards, in the gardens and landscapes category. This was for our team's involvement in this multi-disciplinary large scale restoration project of a Lancelot 'Capability' Brown lake at Burton Park near Petworth.

We are thrilled to announce that Lady Penelope’s horticulture and estates team have been shortlisted for one of this year’s Horticulture Week Custodian Awards. This is for the team's excellent work at the King Edward VII Estate near Midhurst in West Sussex. A Grade I listed Gertrude Jekyll garden set in 150-acres of acid grassland which forms the gardens and grounds of the King Edward VII Sanatorium, a fabulous arts & crafts building designed by Percy Adams. Our team is responsible for horticulture, establishment of the recently restored Jekyll gardens, woodland management and tree surgery, meadow management and estate care.
